Certified Sommelier
Born in Puerto Rico, Lola’s original path was not always forged to the wine industry. After graduating high school, she earned a bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Sciences. Shortly after getting into Medical School, she realized her passion for medicine had ceased.
Lola decided to expand her horizons in search for her calling and from Med immersed into the Fashion Industry. Working as a model and assisting fashion designers she realized this was not it. While working at a bike shop, she developed a strong interest in cycling and in true Lola style she was all in. She was everywhere she had to be to become a better athlete. Practicing this sport allowed her to venture out to several countries. While in Italy she finally found the one she had been longing for, her one true calling, wine.
Soon enough, Lola moved to NYC and began to study at the International Culinary Center where she graduated as a Sommelier. She then became certified with The Court of Master Sommeliers. Ever since then, Lola has been working from the regions of Champagne, France and Puerto Rico.
Always open to new discoveries, Lola considers herself an apprentice of wine, language and life itself.
